Textures on Metal Workshop Wrap Up

April 30, 2014

What fun!!! THANK YOU to the participants of the first official metalledwith workshop.

We covered annealing, hammering, stamps and a bit of chasing. We played with textiles and paper on metal through roll printing. We had wonderful weather that we barely noticed because we were so intent on creating our pendants. A PDF of the handout can be found here.

What did I learn? I enjoy hosting workshops! There is something about the experience of being together, of learning firsthand from someone else who has tried a technique, and having the opportunity to ask questions that is very different from an online video or learning from a book. That type of communication is valuable. I intend to offer more workshops and wonder if there are interested people who would be available outside of a Saturday morning. I plan to schedule another workshop in the near future. We were crunched for time, so I’ll also be extending the window.

Here are the completed pendants of each participant. I will likely repeat this workshop and look forward to covering other topics as well. If you are seeking a particular workshop or think you would be interested in attending Textures on Metal, email Richelle.
