Private Lessons offered

January 22, 2015

It’s great to get interest in private lessons! I’ve just drafted a new page about it. It also includes information on private group workshops. It’s short enough for me to post the content below.

In addition, metalledwith is actively seeking hosts for home parties this Spring. There are perks for hosting, and doesn’t it just feel better to host for a local artist than some mass produced catalog company? We think so, too.

PRIVATE LESSONS AND GROUP WORKSHOPS

Private Lessons

Yes! We offer Private Lessons at $50/hour. Are you stuck on a special piece and need advice? Want to learn how to solder and anneal? Read about a great technique in a book, but execution just isn’t working? In private lessons, your interests come first. We welcome one-time appointments as well as ongoing lessons and are happy to draft a lesson plan when needed. Topics previously taught include fold-forming, roll-printing, hammering, annealing, soldering, cold connection assembly, wire-wrapping, metal etching, patina recipes, and basic tools and techniques for the home studio. Ready to begin? Make contact.

Group Workshops

In addition to our pubic workshops, we entertain private group workshops at the studio. This makes for a great family activity excursion, unique girls’ night get together, or bridesmaids’ party where the girls can make their own custom jewelry for your wedding based on your design. We supply the materials and know-how, not to mention snacks and cocktails (okay, we might skip the cocktails for the family-friendly version, just let us know). Want to hear more? Make contact.
