Symbols in Silver

If you have signed up for my mailing list, you will have already read about this project.

These three bracelets were created for three sisters, each of whom had chosen a symbol that bonded them together. The symbols included a heart, a star and a paw print. On the occasion of one sister’s wedding, it was my job to create a bracelet for each one that utilized these three symbols. Every once in a while an artist gets the opportunity to work with a dream client: someone who wants the artist to express him- or her-self while also clarifying any expectations before the hours go into the pieces. To create these bracelets, I utilized four different gauges of silver wire and formed each shape by hand. When deciding upon the support system to connect the focal points to frame, I chose an organic burst of smaller silver supports that almost reminds me of an art nouveau style. This project was a joy to create. The more hours I spent with each piece, the better I understood both the personality of the piece (playful, yet refined) as well as how the metal would react with the fire. Thank you to that dream client. I hope the girls love their bracelets.
