Summer Summary

August 22, 2017

One goal this summer has been to build up the online store, currently housed via etsy, to reach 50+ items. Making each piece individually, then scheduling and completing a photo shoot and write-ups among the slew of other tasks in limited time have made this goal a challenge. But thanks to some help this summer, we got there! Enjoy a deep discount at 30% off when you purchase two items.

We also want to take time to say a BIG thank you to Annie Haines! Annie has been helping in the metalledwith studio this summer, spending time with Richelle and progressing our never ending to-do lists, turning items into to-done! Annie comes from York and has always had a warm and welcoming spirit, enjoys learning new things, is an adventurer and outdoor enthusiast, and is just fun to be around. We’re grateful for our time together this summer and wish her the best in the next chapter of her story.

For those of you who like to plan ahead, our 2018 space is still available. We’re seeking an individual who is interested in small business and the arts. Our 100-hr unpaid internship may be applicable for college credit, and includes attendance to all workshops and classes (class time counts toward completion), access to studio for personal projects, training on various software programs, and hanging out with Richelle in the shop (what’s not to love?). A self starter personality is helpful as there are occasional surprise visits from a toddler.

Summer of 2017 has been a blast! We’ve traveled for shows from the PA Wilds to Delaware. We’ve had classes on garden art, etching, riveted bracelets, and set stone rings. We had a private group workshop and taught middle-schoolers about enamel. We demonstrated at The State Museum and happened upon a copy of a book in which metalledwith’s work is published!

Now let’s see how we round out the rest of the summer and the approach to our favorite season, autumn. To all you other hard workers out there, hope you have an enjoyable and relaxing Labor Day!
