Consider awakening your inner artist this summer by taking a class (or two!) at the metalledwith studio in Boiling Springs, PA. Classes begin in March and run through the end of July. Space is limited. Click on the links below for additional details and descriptions.

All classes require a minimum number of guests. All guests will receive a full refund in the event a class is cancelled. Class times are flexible and may vary depending on the number of participants, etc.

To register for any class, contact us using our contact form. Upon receiving your information, we will email you with a secure invoice. Registration is confirmed with invoice payment.

What’s the difference between a Workshop and a Make-and-Take: A workshop functions as a class, focused on learning a technical skill. But don’t let that intimidate you! Workshops are fun for all skill levels, from beginners to proficient metalworkers. Guests in a workshop should expect more detail and instruction. Workshops allow participants to hone a specific skill or become more familiar with a certain technique. Workshops generally take place on Saturdays and may or may not be project based.

Make-and-Take: Make-and-Takes are project-based classes, similar to a painting party. The purpose of a Make-and-Take is to unwind, have a good time, and leave with a stunning, original piece of jewelry created by you! Schedule a party with a group of friends or come on your own. No experience is necessary for these straightforward, take-home classes.

What’s the policy on cancellations?

We understand when life happens! Refunds for cancellations will be honored based on the following timeline:

100% 21+ days before the scheduled date of class
50% 14-20 days before the scheduled date of class
0% 0-13 days before the scheduled date of class

What if I prefer earrings to a pendant, or vice versa?

No problem. We work to accommodate the styles and tastes of our guests as much as possible. Just remember to bring a pair of items to include when crafting earrings instead of a single item for a necklace (when materials are not included in the class).

Torch Enamel Necklace

Enamel

On March 10, beginning at 6PM, join us at the metalledwith studio for a Torch-Fired Enameling Make-and-Take! During this class, guests learn how to apply and fuse enamel to copper using fire. The finished product will be an enamel necklace. All materials (copper, enamel, equipment, and necklace) are included in the class, priced at $35. This event is BYOB; we’ll provide complimentary light snacks. The estimated time to complete the project is approximately 1-2 hours, so guests should plan accordingly. For questions or to register, contact us.

Textures on Metal

On Saturday, March 19 at 9AM, come join us for this old favorite: Textures on Metal! One of our most popular classes, Textures on Metal is ideal for beginners. Richelle introduces and explains basic metalworking skills. Experience is helpful but not necessary. Guests explore texturing through the use of hammering, roll-printing designs, and letter stamps. Materials are included. The price of this workshop is $65. The process takes about three hours, so guests should set aside an appropriate block of time. The workshop will begin at 9 AM. To register, use the contact form.

Photo Pendant

On Thursday, April 28, beginning at 6PM, metalledwith will be offering a Make & Take centered around photo pendants. Gather your favorite small photographs and turn them into treasured heirlooms. Necklace pendants are wonderful keepsake gifts – for you or someone else. Please keep in mind that the ideal photograph (or reprint) for this project would be about an inch or less in size. Take those faces, places, or other memories that are dear to you and prepare to wear them close to your heart. Our technique focuses on using resin to set the photos into a prepared bezel. This class is priced at $35. It is a BYOB event, but we’ll provide complimentary light snacks. The estimated time to complete the project is 1-2 hours, so guests should plan accordingly. For questions or to register, contact us.IMG_8205

Stone Set Ring

On Thursday, May 19, beginning at 6PM, we’ll gather for this Make-and-Take Class. Guests will practice stone-setting on a silver ring. All guests will first create their ring, then solder on the bezel, and set a semi-precious gemstone of their choice (from our available supply). This class is priced at $45. The event is BYOB; we’ll provide complimentary light snacks. This workshop runs for 1-2 hours, so guests should plan accordingly. For questions or to register, contact us.

Metal Etching

Join us on July 16 at 9AM for this one-day workshop exploring the technique of salt water etching on copper. Salt water etching does not use the harsh chemicals traditionally associated with metal etching. Each guest will be provided with copper, resist materials, and a small power supply to use during the workshop. The cost is $75. Guests should bring a packed lunch. The workshop will run from 9AM-3PM (including a lunch break). For questions or to register, contact us.

Stained Glass Pendant

On Saturday, July 30 at 9AM, guests will join Richelle to create a “stained glass” pendant using pigmented resin. Please note: Participation in this workshop requires a basic knowledge of metalworking. Guests will implement wire working and solder their wire window form. The stained glass window pendant workshop is offered at $65. Guests are asked to bring a packed lunch. This workshop runs from 9AM – 2PM. For questions or to register, contact us.
